Our IICRC certified technicians are equipped to handle any size Carpet Cleaning job that you encounter. 

Our professionals will inspect your home or business to determine the appropriate plan of action. 

Here’s what you can expect from American Patriot Restoration.

Pre-Clean Inspection

Upon arrival our technicians will walk through the rooms with you to inspect and discuss our carpet cleaning procedures. On the walk through we will ask what items of furniture you would like to be moved. We map out stains and determine the best treatment.

Furniture

Upon inspection we will move furniture out of the way to access the flooring underneath. It is not mandatory to move furniture although we recommend doing so to ensure no dander is left behind. There is no extra charge for moving furniture.

Spot Treatment & Shampoo

While inspecting stains we will determine the best plan of action. Our technicians carry a wide range of stain removers to combat stubborn spots like gum, ink, and coffee. After treatment we will spray our eco-friendly shampoo and begin to bring in our equipment.

Hot Water Extraction

Our technicians will bring in our equipment through the closest most convenient door. We will lay large pads down to protect surfaces like corners, trim, and hardwood floors. Once set in place we will begin cleaning using our hot water extraction method.

Block & Rake

Once finish cleaning we will go back through the rooms to place foam blocks and furniture pads underneath wood, metal, and low lying surfaces. This ensures proper air movement for drying and prevents color transfer to damp carpet. These must stay in place for 24 hours or until carpet is dry. Then we will run our carpet rake throughout plush carpet to remove left behind hair and fiber as well as smooth out lines for a clean finished look.

Inspection

Our technicians will do a final walk through and make sure you are happy with your clean carpet. We will discuss which stains (if any) did not come clean. Although we always strive to clean carpet to our best ability, if there is an area you would like to have us re-clean we would do so at that time. If you discover an area that was stained reappears after your carpet has dried, this is called wicking and you are unhappy with results, please give us a call back. At American Patriot Restoration we're not satisfied until you are.

On average, it takes around 20 minutes per room depending on the amount of furniture that must be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and the amount of spots that need removed.

Yes! You can although we highly suggest that you remove your shoes first to ensure that soil does not transfer to your freshly cleaned carpet. 

On average, it takes between 8 to 24 hours to completely dry. Dry time is affected by humidity, temperature, and airflow. 

We do offer scotch guard upon your request. We will apply a protector (scotch guard) to your carpet that aids in preventing damage from dirt and spills. It can even protect against everyday wear like foot traffic and vacuuming. This will be applied immediately after cleaning while the carpet is still damp. We will rake the product through to ensure thorough saturation. We recommend adding this service for homes with children and/or pets. This should not be used on white wool or oriental rugs. 

While our shampoo products are safe for both pets and children, we recommend keeping them off of the carpet until we have finished cleaning. Our equipment requires us to have your front door open in order to run our hoses throughout your house so if you have pets that you do not want to go outside we recommend putting them in a room or location where they cannot access the front door. Our water line hose can get very warm in order to do the deep cleaning your carpets require, with that being said small children should not be allowed around our hoses for their skin may be more sensitive to heat then adults.

If you plan on having furniture moved, we suggest having the tops cleared off so we can ensure the safety of your items during movement. While most times our technicians are capable of moving heavy objects, if an item is excessively heavy we recommend unloading items to lighten the weight for our staff. If you have extremely heavy furniture we suggest letting our secretary know upon scheduling so we can ensure we send technicians capable of lifting your items. We do not move china cabinets unless they are empty. This is only to ensure your items do not get damaged. We also suggest removing toys, shoes, and all small items off of the floor before we arrive.

Generally, carpet should be replaced if it is over 20 years old. However, if your carpet has had regular maintenance, you may be able to continue with yearly cleaning. Without regular maintenance, carpet cleaners often run into an issue called “wicking”. When professional cleaners shampoo your carpet and leave it looking spotless, you may wake up the next day to resurfaced stains. This is from dirt and debris embedded deep under the carpet pad “wicking” back up to the surface of the carpet. Wicking can often be fixed by a simple touchup with carpet that is under 10 years old. Older carpet however, will typically continue to have issues with debris wicking back up to the surface. That is why in some cases, we may recommend replacement.

We recommend to always let your carpet cleaner know upon scheduling if you are concerned about the age of your carpet. In some cases, we may recommend an in person estimate before scheduling a cleaning.
